After the disappointing critical and financial performance of Warner Bros.’ Justice League, fans are curious to see if director James Wan’s Aquaman will match the tone of the darker DC films or if it will be similar to the more optimistic Wonder Woman. In an interview with Variety, Warner Bros. Film chief Toby Emmerich commented on James Wan’s vision for the Aquaman film and what fan can expect from the project.
According to Emmerich, James Wan found the perfect tonal balance for Aquaman:
“It’s not too hot or too cold — [Wan] struck a great balance between fun and jeopardy, edge and wonder, comedy, and tragedy.”
The Warner Bros. film chief added that James Wan’s vision for Atlantis will be unlike anything audiences have seen before:
“James created a totally original underwater universe. Just as Patty Jenkins did with Themyscira, James’ Atlantis is cool and compelling — unlike any world we’ve seen on film before, in a superhero movie or any other.”

10 DC Comics Heroes That Should Be In The Next ‘Justice League’ Movie
The Justice League is DC’s premiere superhero team. These characters are the biggest names in the DC Comics universe. Zack Snyder’s Justice League movie introduced six members to audiences in the form of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash.
Despite the first Justice League film underperforming, there appears to be a sequel in some form of active development over at Warner Brothers. Based on the first film’s post-post scene, the team could be facing off against the Legion of Doom, so it appears the Justice League may need some extra assistance. Luckily there is a wide array of DC characters from the comics to pull from to strengthen the team’s roster.
